Thank you for your interest in the role of Interim Chief Information Officer (CIO) for NHS 24. I wanted to add a personal message to the information contained in this microsite to emphasise the importance of this role in my senior management team.

This is a unique opportunity to join the leadership team of NHS 24 at a crucial time as we move forward with a significant organisational improvement programme including the go-live and transition to Business As Usual (BAU) for the SAP based telephony solution.

We need you to bring significant experience in leading the technical work streams of large-scale technology delivery during a period of transition and a new Target Operating Model for service delivery with our commercial partners. This interim role for a period of 12 months is to provide our executive team and our ICT staff with sustained strategic CIO level leadership. You can expect to work closely with me and my executive team to drive forward our business and technology objectives.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, inclusive individual. I need someone who combines good judgement and strategic technical delivery with the experience and ability to lead, motivate and develop multi-disciplinary teams. You need to be able to work across boundaries, collaboratively, and be clear, concise and direct with those who do not possess the same level of technical expertise.

You will have a track record of successful delivery experience in, or significant understanding of call centre based technology platforms, be resilient and have recent and extensive experience of complex multi-million pound IT programmes.

You will be experienced in the strategic management of suppliers and finding a way through commercial difficulties that can arise in outsourced service delivery models. You will welcome scrutiny processes, and be comfortable in taking on the responsibility of assuring others.
