Students Association of the University of the West of Scotland (SAUWS)

Welcome

President

On behalf of the Association Staff, Executive Officers and Trustee Board, I would like to thank you for registering an interest in SAUWS. The SAUWS Sabbatical team are delighted and excited to be involved in the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive and External Trustees.

With a new constitution being implemented, SAUWS is undergoing a period of significant organisational change. There is currently a Turnaround Board governing the organisation with an Interim Director in place to ensure a smooth handover to the new CE. Therefore, the new CE and External Trustees will be required to hit the ground running and demonstrate their skills and expertise from the start, empowering and motivating the staff and officer teams to deliver for students’.

For our new Chief Executive we are looking for a dynamic and forward thinking candidate to help shape a very exciting future for SAUWS. The new Chief Executive will lead on creating a new vision for the Association; develop a strategic plan and re-shape the organisation to deliver relevant and engaging membership services and activities, whilst refocusing and building efficient commercial activities to complement the membership offer; with student engagement and representation at the core.

For the External Trustees we are looking for enthusiastic and passionate professionals who have an understanding of our democratic structures and are eager to apply their skill sets to help us operate the Board at the appropriate strategic level.

Thanks for looking at these positions, further information regarding the roles and how to apply are contained in the following pages.

Best wishes

Jack Douglas
