Various Roles

Welcome

Dear Candidate

Welcome and thank you for showing interest in the new appointments that we have established in the Estates and Buildings department at the University of Glasgow.

This is a very exciting time for both the University and the department. The University has just launched its new five year strategy which is focused on our People, Place and Purpose. It is clear that, our inspiring people can be world changers, if we provide an inspirational and fit for purpose estate.  It is exciting times for the University.

In April 2016, the University takes possession of 14 acres of land adjoining the main Gilmorehill campus.  Over the last two years there has been significant effort in shaping how to redevelop and re-vision the whole of the campus. As a result, in February this year our Governing body, The University Court, approved a £775m capital investment plan. This investment is to be delivered over the next ten years.

The £775m will be used to construct both new buildings (approx. £350m) and to refurbish some of our significant buildings. £150m has also been set aside for small projects (under £10m) and for substantive maintenance projects.

The department has recruited a new and dynamic leadership team. We are now looking to develop a highly motivated and committed senior management team to support the leadership team in delivering this major capital programme.

If you were successful you would be joining a new, highly motivated and professional estates team. You would be involved in one of the largest development programmes in Scotland and will be making a major contribution to the future of one of Scotland’s oldest and most successful Universities.

I hope you are as excited by these opportunities as we are and that you will feel inspired to submit your application.

Yours faithfully

Ann Allen

Director – Estates and Buildings
