Welcome

Dear Applicant

Thank you for taking the time to consider applying for the Contract Directors, Health role at Serco Health. I hope you find the following informative and helpful.

Serco is a FTSE 250 international service company which combines commercial know-how with a deep public service ethos. We improve services by managing people, processes, technology and assets more effectively. We advise policy makers, design innovative solutions, integrate systems and - most of all - deliver to the public. Serco supports governments, agencies and companies who seek a trusted partner with a solid track-record of providing assured service excellence. Our people offer operational, management and consulting expertise in the aerospace, defence, education, health, home affairs, local government, science, technology, transport and the commercial sectors.

Our highly successful Health business work in partnership with the NHS in the UK and with world-class health care companies across the globe, to deliver joined-up healthcare solutions including Integrated Facilities Management and Business Process Outsourcing. Further detail is available at:

Serco currently have two exciting opportunities for talented and experienced Contract Directors to provide strategic leadership to our high profile facilities management contracts at both Wishaw General Hospital and Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Our drivers in Serco Health are:

  • Being Patient and People Centred
  • Supporting and delivering safe outcomes
  • Delivering value for money
  • Living our values

The way we deliver our services is as important to us as what we deliver, something that sets us apart from the industry norm and that our customers recognise. We care passionately about healthcare and the role that we play in improving the delivery of healthcare in Scotland.

Innovation is a core Serco value. We work hard with our Trust clients to deliver sustainable quality and continuous improvement. We can draw on our Global experiences in Healthcare and facilities management. In partnership, we work together on solutions that improve quality, reduce cost and drive out waste.

The hospitals in our care achieve the highest standards of cleaning excellence, protecting patients and staff from infection. Our portering solutions ensure we always know where patients are in their transition – our staff really care about patients and their families: for which they frequently receive well deserved recognition. We ensure that the experience of patients matches the quality of clinical care, for example, a dining experience and food eaten, not just a meal served.

Contract Directors, Health Recruitment

Strong leadership = engaged staff. Our Contract Directors need to be exemplars in role modelling our values – Care, Pride, Trust and Innovation. Visible, credible and consistently inspiring our people to deliver our services. Putting staff and patients at the centre of what we do.

With full accountability and responsibility for the delivery of our services to the highest quality in strategic partnership with our clients, these are challenging and demanding roles.

Balancing strategy and operational delivery, working with a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues, intellectual capability and horse power is a key asset in this role. Equally key is the emotional intelligence to really understand and engage with people.

Reporting to our recently appointed Managing Director, Health – these roles are very much a part of the senior team responsible for developing and delivering our UK strategy. This is an exciting time to join us – we’re Serco and proud of it.
