Who we are and what we do

The Wise Group is a leading social enterprise that for more than 30 years has been transforming lives – helping people gain new skills, move off benefits and into work, helping reduce reoffending, regenerate communities, working to tackle fuel poverty and creating a greener society.

We operate across Scotland and the north east of England, developing and delivering services to meet the needs of the people and communities we work with.

We work in partnership with public, private and third sector organisations to meet shared goals and make a positive impact on society.

Vision and values

The Wise Group vision is “To realise people’s potential, create a fairer society and contribute to sustainable economic growth.”

The vision is underpinned by a number of organisational values that are central to our identity as a business, achieving our business objectives and realising positive social impact.

The vision is realised through the commitment, capabilities and behaviours of staff. This involves a focus on culture through leadership and individual capacity building, as the key drivers of excellent performance.

Proven track record

The Wise Group has a proven track record of providing innovative, quality services and solutions based on a strong understanding of what works in our markets.

This is enabled though committed staff, strong partnership and a reputation for delivering excellent performance and outcomes.

We deliver

Since 1983, we have helped over 40,000 people find employment. Over and above the financial benefit, customers say paid work has led to increased levels of self-confidence and motivation and improved health and wellbeing – all of which enhance performance in the workplace.

We have improved thousands of houses, helping householders make energy efficiencies and save money spent on fuel bills.

We have delivered significant regeneration projects in the heart of communities, physical improvements re-inspiring in local residents a sense of ownership and pride.

We do this in partnership with local authorities, housing associations, community based organisations and employers.
