Welcome

Welcome to the Borders Carers Centre microsite, my name is Linda Jackson and I am the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Centre. We are a well established and trusted organisation, the only dedicated Carers support organisation in the Scottish Borders. Galashiels and Hawick  are the main centres of population and just to give you an idea of the size of the mostly rural area we work in if you were to drive from the western edge of the county near Biggar to Eyemouth on the east coast, it is about 75 miles and approximately a 2 hour drive.

The Centre has grown steadily from humble beginnings in 1995 and we proudly celebrate our 30th anniversary this year. After Covid we took the decision with staff to move to a mixed hybrid model of people working partly from home and partly in the office which has proved successful for carers as well as workers. We have a very stable staff team and a very good reputation which we work hard to maintain. The dedicated, conscientious, and hard working team do amazing work to support carers in the Scottish Borders and we welcome applications from people who are keen to maintain these standards and take them forward to the next level.
