About
Rosehill is based in Pollok, in the southside of Glasgow. It began in the late 80s as a fully mutual housing co-operative. It took ownership of its first houses (375) in January 1988 through a stock transfer from the then Glasgow District Council. The early years were spent investing in these homes to bring them up to a standard that the tenants deserved and to provide value for money for the rent paid. On completion of the extensive programme of improvements, Rosehill looked to the future and determined that to meet the needs of its current and future tenants it would need to expand its stock to provide a wider range of house types and sizes. This saw Rosehill embark on a programme of new build in the early 90s. Since then, Rosehill has grown to over 1000 homes, in addition to new build, the growth is a result of a previous transfer of engagements with Rosehill taking over the former Hurlet Housing Association, 2 stock transfers and a small number of individual acquisitions. We also provide factoring services to around 200 owners.
We, in the main, provide general needs housing but have one supported accommodation unit which can have up to 4 residents with learning and physical disabilities, with care and support being provided by a care provider.
In late 2024 we changed our constitution and became a charitable registered housing association. This change was driven by the increasing risk relating to recruiting and retaining Committee members as membership was restricted to our tenants under the fully mutual model. Opening up our membership has enabled us to recruit from a wider range of people with a variety of skills and experience.
Our Management Committee comprises of up to 12 members. We currently have 10 Committee Members made up of 8 tenant members and 2 non-tenant members. We have a staff team of 21.
