Welcome
‘Celebrating Glasgow’s past, supporting its future’
The Trades House of Glasgow has been part of the city’s story since 1605. Originally established to support and protect Glasgow’s craftspeople, it has a long history of charitable giving, education and community service.
That tradition continues today. The Trades House oversees 24 charitable and restricted funds, managing assets in excess of £18 million and along with the 14 Incorporated Crafts, we provide more than £750,000* each year to support education, apprentices and people across Glasgow and the West of Scotland. From nursery to university, and through partnerships with third sector organisations, we help people of all ages build brighter futures.
For the first time in our history, we have this financial year donated over £1,000,000.00.
Still meeting in our historic Trades Hall on Glassford Street, we remain an important part of Glasgow’s past, present and future.
