Chief Executive Officer

Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the role of Chief Executive Officer at Circular Communities Scotland.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a thriving charitable organisation supporting Scotland-wide environmental and social justice.

Circular Communities Scotland is a membership organisation, representing and supporting over 270 charities and social enterprises providing access to reuse, repair and recycling to communities across Scotland.

Our key funding comes from Zero Waste Scotland and the Esmee Fairbairn Charitable Trust as well as other income through membership fees, event sponsorship, other contracts and trading including the Reuse Consortium.

Our dedicated and welcoming team work to put our members at the heart of everything they do. From events, campaigning and policy work to unique projects aimed at fostering growth in the sector, we provide spaces where our members feel connected, supported and equipped to continue their vital work.

Our organisation is built on trust and integrity, openness and community and we are currently also leading work that focuses on diversity and inclusion.

We are looking for a new CEO with similar values, who is passionate about the potential of the circular economy in Scotland’s voluntary sector, and the human stories behind community reuse. Reuse is at an exciting juncture and we are keen to appoint someone who can operate at a strategic level, creating opportunities to benefit Circular Communities Scotland, our members, communities and the environment. Our new CEO will build on the strong foundations and relationships we have while also working with the board to steer the organisation moving forwards.

If you have a strong grasp of financial management, a passion for organisational development, and the strategic insight to lead our high-quality services and to continue to support our members, we’d love to hear from you.

Naomi Johnson,
Chair, Circular Communities Scotland
