Director of Finance, Moray College UHI

Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the Finance Director job here at Moray College UHI.

We’re based in Elgin, and very much embedded in our local community in Moray, but we’re also proud to be part of the University of the Highlands and Islands, a dynamic and connected partnership made up of nine colleges and four specialist institutions that cover half the landmass of Scotland.

Moray is a great place to live, to study and to do business. It is known for its outstanding and varied scenery, its distinctive heritage and cultures, its recreational opportunities and for the quality of life which the region offers. The main College campus is situated close to the city centre with good access routes and transport links to Inverness and Aberdeen.

The mission of Moray College is one of transformation; transforming lives, and being at the heart of transformation in Moray and the wider region. Transformation starts with ourselves though, and as a college we’ve made great strides in improving the quality of the service we offer. We’ve been leading some exciting developments in the Higher Education provision of the University, and we’re also poised to drive forward a couple of key projects in the Moray Growth Deal, funding for which was announced here at the college by both the Scottish and UK governments during the summer.

As our new FD you’ll have a key role in delivering that mission. You’ll clearly have a leading role in financial planning and reporting, in delivering a sustainable future for the college. You’ll also lead the financial planning for our multi-million pound Growth Deal Projects; and as the university continues to develop, you may also have the opportunity to play a wider role across the partnership.

But this role is about more than the money, and as a member of the senior team you’ll be fully engaged in the whole strategy to take us to where we want to be. What you do, and the way you do it as part of our team, will facilitate the development of our curriculum, teaching, culture, partnerships, and of course, sustainability.

If this sounds like a challenge and an opportunity that you’re up for, then we’d love to hear from you.
