About PoLHA

The history of the PoLHA Group began in 1975 with the formation of Port of Leith Housing Association to provide housing and help to people in need throughout Leith and north Edinburgh.

The organisation has grown in the last 10 years adding a Private Sector Rental company, Persevere Developments Ltd, a community enterprise company focussing on placemaking for the Group, Quay Community Interest Company and a building and energy service company TB MacKay Energy Services.

While the Group operates in a commercial world at its heart it has significant social purpose. All profits made by Group companies are used to continue increasing the number of affordable homes available in the area, keeping existing properties at high levels of quality and supporting work to improve the environmental, economic and social infrastructure in Leith and North Edinburgh. The Group has the aspiration to be seen by people as a trusted Community Anchor Organisation in the area.
