Ceteris is a highly successful, profit making, innovative social enterprise which provides business support to businesses in Clackmannanshire and Stirling with a turnover of c£2.5m and a permanent staff of 33.
We support economic growth through two main roles. Firstly, through the provision of commercial and office premises, owning and managing 260,000 sqft of property with consistently high occupancy rates. We are currently landlord to over 150 tenants who employ over 900 people across 17 sites in Clackmannanshire and Stirling. With a high (97%) tenant satisfaction rate, we offer a full range of properties for our tenants including serviced office accommodation, flexible working and hot desking areas and industrial units.
Secondly, Ceteris operates the Business Gateway contract in Clackmannanshire providing support to more than 150 new and existing businesses annually. Ceteris is one of the highest performing Business Gateway providers in Scotland. We also provide additional tenant and other business support through specialist advisory services.
Ceteris has become a key player in the development and regeneration of Clackmannanshire and works closely with partners such as the local BIDS, Clackmannanshire Business Support Forum, Developing Young Workforce, Career Ready and many other initiatives.
Ceteris makes a substantial contribution to the economic well being of Clackmannanshire. In 2020, we completed an economic evaluation of Ceteris which has concluded that our net economic impact to date has been to create 559 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) jobs and £25m Gross Value Added. In addition, from our activity to date, we expect further benefits to be realised in the future of a further 1,964 FTE jobs and £694m Gross Value Added.

We are now looking to appoint a high calibre Managing Director to provide leadership at an exciting and challenging time as Clackmannanshire moves into a new post Covid 19 world. The MD will lead the successful adaptation of our business to suit this world while at the same time supporting our tenant companies and the clients of our business services to similarly adapt.
Ceteris are seeking an individual with commitment and vision to help Clackmannanshire make a step change in its regeneration. The successful candidate will have a strong leadership skills for use within the company and working with others in Clackmannanshire to deliver its regeneration goals. He or she will have commercial and management experience to ensure the continued strong operation of this high performing organisation and a clear understanding and experience in economic development and regeneration.
With strong commercial, leadership, communication and team working skills they will also have a knowledge of strategic financial, commercial property and economic development/regeneration issues.

The Role – Managing Director
We are now searching for a pro-active and highly skilled leader to take on the role as Managing Director to lead Ceteris (Scotland). You will front the organisations and oversee the day-to-day operations, providing strategic direction and leadership to the staff team.
Reporting to the Board, key responsibilities include –
- Leadership including facilitating organisational change and improvement
- Overall management of the company, staff and associated contractors/consultants
- Identifying and ensuring the implementation of new projects
- Developing strategic and operational plans
- Driving business change and improvements
- Building sustainable relationships with partners and stakeholders.
- Motivating, managing and participating in teams effectively
The successful candidate will have a strong track-record leading or working within senior management of a or similar organisation and will ideally have a track record in managing and developing commercial property projects and economic development and regeneration projects.
