Chief Executive Officer

Foreword from Bill Steele, Convener

Thank you for your interest in the role of Chief Executive Officer with CrossReach.

This is an exciting – and equally challenging – time to be part of the CrossReach story. As part of the Church of Scotland, CrossReach is one of Scotland’s largest voluntary social care organisations, with around 2,000 staff and an annual expenditure of £46 million. We walk alongside others, providing care, support and counselling services to a wide range of people in need in communities right across the country.

Our achievements to date speak for themselves – as does our commitment to reaching out and making a positive difference to the lives of others. We have worked hard to ensure that CrossReach is more than ‘fit for purpose’, and an organisation that delivers an exceptional service to everyone who comes into contact with us.

As we look to the future, like all social care providers, we are facing significant changes in the social care landscape. Public funding is falling and the need for support is constantly increasing. Against this backdrop, we have ambitious plans to develop our services. Due to the retirement of our current Chief Executive after 25 years of service, 7 in his current role, we now need an outstanding individual to lead our management team to develop and drive forward the strategic and business plans that underpin our growth in this evolving market. And as Secretary of the Social Care Council, you will also represent CrossReach within the wider Church of Scotland.

As our Chief Executive Officer, you will lead us through this time of change, bringing vision, energy and insight that will inspire everyone here to grasp the opportunities ahead and – united by our collective will, passion and expertise - make a real difference in society.
