Welcome to the microsite for the role of Director Legal & Governance based in West Yorkshire.

I would like to thank you for registering an interest in one of the key posts within our Senior Leadership Team here at the Incommunities Group.

Hopefully, this micro site will give you all the information you need about the job and Incommunities to convince you that the job is right for you – and to assess whether you have the skills and experience we are looking for.

This is a great time to join Incommunities – there is a great deal going on and you will have the opportunity to make a real difference. As a social housing provider, we are committed to improving the lives of our customers. This role is instrumental to all that we do. The current post holder will be a hard act to follow, but given we are in an ever-changing environment, the work he has already done will prove to be an excellent foundation upon which to continue to develop and improve the service.

As Company Secretary, you will be the guardian of good governance -helping us to maintain our G1 Regulatory rating. As a lawyer, whether your specialism is Housing and litigation or company, commercial and contract law you will guide and advise us to make the best decisions possible for our customers and stakeholders.

As well as providing clear legal advice and support, you will manage a team of specialist legal and governance staff who have a track record in providing advice to external organisations.

We want a consummate professional; someone with sound experience who can earn the respect of customers, colleagues and Board members alike; someone who can give good counsel and whose professional integrity will be second to none. As we have said in the advert, the right candidate will have inspirational leadership qualities and the ability to support the growth and development of our business in the future. The ability to develop strong relationships both inside and outside the organisation are key to the success of the job, so we will focus on both experience and personal qualities to see if you are the right fit for us.

It’s a lot to ask and we don’t think there are many people with the combination of skills and experience we want – but if you think you may be the right person for us, we would really like to hear from you.

You are likely to be in a senior strategic role; a professional expert, used to working alongside Board members and will have a solid track record of giving advice, guidance and support on a range of legal matters. You will also have a good appreciation of the social housing sector. In addition, you will be a strategic thinker, a strong team player and have demonstrable leadership qualities.

This is a challenging job and you will have a high profile within the organisation and regionally through partnership working and relationships with our many stakeholders. The job has real potential to be a springboard for further career progression.
