Jobs & Business Glasgow

Welcome Prospective Board Members

Jon Findlay

Dear prospective applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the Board member positions at Jobs & Business Glasgow.

These positions are critical to the delivery of our over-arching goal which is to improve the quality of life of Glasgow’s residents by improving access to opportunity.

In 2011, five local regeneration agencies covering different parts of the city, merged to become Jobs & Business Glasgow. Since then, the business has been transformed into a single city-wide charity. The post-merger phase is now complete but there is still much to be done. The charity is now on a solid financial footing but is facing significant challenges, including, the impact of welfare reform on JBG’s client group, the economic outlook uncertainty and the increasingly competitive funding environment.

To deliver a step change in our efforts to address these issues will require a special combination of skills, experience and talent. In return, we can promise you the opportunity to join a vibrant and dynamic economic development charity successfully delivering economic development services across Glasgow.

You will join a committed Board of 5 Councillors from Glasgow City Council, three private sector business leaders and the Chief Executive.

If you feel you can truly make a difference to our work and have a proven record in the private sector of delivering success in the field of Finance, Business Development or marketing then we would really like to hear from you via our adviser, Donogh O’Brien at Aspen People – 0141 212 7555.
