On Tuesday 17th December 2013 Nigel Fortnum, Director at Aspen, was inducted as an Ambassador for the STEM Network.

STEM Ambassadors volunteer as inspiring role models for young people. They are people using Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) skills, who can help illuminate the potential of STEM subjects and careers.

SFDF (Scottish Food and Drink Federation) work in partnership with STEM and asked  Nigel, with his expertise in the industry, to enhance the interest in career opportunities that exist in the Food and Drink sector which makes up such a large part of the Scottish and wider economies.

Nigel, a Director at Aspen said:

"I am proud to have been asked to become a Stem Ambassador, to enhance the interest in our future generations to look at career opportunities that exist within the Food and Drink Industry. It is clear since the creation of the STEM Network by the UK Government in 2001, that it has had a major impact in inspiring choices, I am looking forward to getting involved across Scotland in 2014”
