CHIEF EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT COMPLETES CORPORATE MANAGEMENT TEAM AT WEST OF SCOTLAND
West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) has completed the appointment of its new corporate management team following the appointment of Lynne Donnelly as Chief Executive.
Dan Wood took up post of Property Director in late 2015 while Stewart Gibb, Director of Housing and Customer Services and Colin MacCallum, Director of Finance and Corporate Services both started in post early 2016.
Dan Wood gained a civil engineering degree prior to joining Southern Water, where he spent seven years becoming a chartered civil engineer. When Southern Water was taken over by Scottish Power in 1996, Dan was offered the opportunity to move to Glasgow where he worked in the internal audit and quality management teams – introducing a Quality Management system to ISO9001. In 2001, he joined Atkins, a large international consultancy business, to run their water consultancy team in Scotland and succeeded in growing this to a team of 60 staff across three offices.
More recently, Dan was seconded to Scottish Water, responsible for a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, working with consultants, contractors and customers to deliver service and environmental improvements.
Stewart Gibb has had a long and varied career in housing. Stewart previously worked with South Lanarkshire Council where he was an area housing manager for the Clydesdale area, within housing and technical resources. He also had strategic responsibility for sheltered housing at South Lanarkshire.
Stewart has previously worked at a senior level for housing associations in Yorkshire and Glasgow, has undertaken a three year secondment to Greater Glasgow Health Board to coordinate a housing resettlement project linked to the closure of long stay hospitals and for eight years he was a project manager for Communities Scotland with responsibilities for a housing regeneration project within Castlemilk, Glasgow.
Colin MacCallum is a qualified accountant and has spent most of his career in financial services, latterly 17 years with the Clydesdale Bank. Prior to that, he had eight years at Scottish Homes. The first five of these were as a Glasgow based management accountant, where he had responsibility for overseeing the financial viability of a portfolio of housing associations and spent much of his time reviewing financial and management accounts, analysing association business plans and assessing applications for capital and revenue grant support.
Colin also had three years at the Edinburgh corporate centre where as financial accounting manager his principal responsibility was managing the organisation’s financial accounting function including the production of Scottish Homes annual financial statements. Colin also gained experience in a number of housing initiatives such as the Large Scale Voluntary Transfers that were taking place at the time.
Lynne Donnelly, chief executive of WSHA, said “I am delighted to have completed these senior appointments to our corporate management team. WSHA now has a balanced and experienced team that is fully committed to improving customer service. The team has a wealth of experience which will drive our strategic aims and provide a first-rate service to tenants and customers. I am confident that, together, we will make a valuable contribution to WSHA going forward.”
Aspen are delighted to have supported WSHA in the appointment of Lynne Donnelly and Colin MacCallum and wish them success in achieving their aims.
