LIVING WAGE ACCREDITATION
Today, Aspen People are delighted to announce that we have committed to becoming an accredited Living Wage employer, demonstrating our promise to pay employees a fair wage. This is an accomplishment in which the entire company is very proud of as we are one of the first executive search firms in Scotland to achieve this. We hope to maintain our status amongst the Living Wage Accreditation community and are excited to benefit from this in the future.
The Living Wage Accreditation initiative was established in April 2014 with the aim of increasing the number of employers who are recognised for paying their staff the Living Wage. This is a voluntary rate that employers commit to pay in order to go above and beyond. The Living Wage Foundation work closely with a range of organisations, including large private sector companies, public sector organisations, charities and community groups.
The UK Living Wage, outside of London, is currently £8.45 per hour and this rate can change based on the cost of living. This figure calculated annually by the Resolution Foundation and overseen by the Living Wage Commission.
This accreditation has benefited over 25,000 people in Scotland who have had a pay rise thanks to the Living Wage Initiative. More than 820 employers headquartered in Scotland have become accredited and the UK, as a whole, has 3,000 accredited employers.
