Head of Housing

Shire Housing Association is a progressive Registered Social Landlord committed to delivering a vision of “Great Homes, Great People, Vibrant Communities”

Based in Cumnock, the charity manages 963 homes across East Ayrshire and provides estate services to approximately 900 private owners. Since its formation in 1997, following a stock transfer, the Association has built 200 new homes and has ambitions to deliver more new homes in the near future.

Shire has gone through significant change and transformation in recent years, the commitment to innovation and excellence has seen vast improvements to services and to ways of working. The progression has been driven by the excellent teams within the organisation embracing a performance culture and is evidenced by their IIP Silver status, and numerous customer service awards.

The Association is recruiting a new Head of Housing who will lead and develop the Asset and Housing Management Services. Embracing the performance culture, the postholder will drive forward excellent customer service and engagement whilst ensuring all properties are maintained to a high standard. The post also holds responsibility for ensuring the Asset Management Strategy delivers high quality homes, whilst providing value for money.

The new Head of Housing will contribute to the strategic development and leadership of Shire, working closely with the Management Board and other Management Team members to ensure the continued success of the organisation. Working with the Board, the Head of Housing will help identify potential development opportunities that could improve the lives of tenants and benefit communities across east Ayrshire.

Successful candidates will have experience of working with in a social landlord setting, gained within Housing Associations or Local Authority. It will be essential for candidates to be educated to degree level and ideally possess experience of asset management.

This post will have flexibility around home working.
