Finance and Audit Committee Members

Welcome

A message from Jim Gallagher, Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee

Hello and thank you for your interest in becoming a member of our Finance and Audit Committee.

SCIAF is the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund – the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in Scotland. We work with some of the poorest and most vulnerable people around the world, helping them to free themselves from poverty free themselves from poverty.

The Finance and Audit Committee plays a key role in the oversight of all financial aspects of SCIAF’s operation and performance so as to ensure short and long term viability.  By doing this, the Committee helps ensure that SCIAF is able to continue in its commitment to build a just and green world, in which everyone is safe and treated with respect.

The focus of the Committee’s work is around:

  • Financial strategy
  • Risk management
  • Investment management
  • External audit
  • Budget and management accounts
  • Internal controls and internal audit

The role is open to candidates of all faiths and backgrounds, although an understanding of the Church would be hugely beneficial for this position.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Jim Gallagher
Chair, Finance and Audit Committee
