Welcome

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the role of Chief Executive at Sleep Scotland.

Sleep Scotland is an Edinburgh based charity that provides support services focussed on two areas. Sleep Services supports the families of children and young people with additional support needs and sleep problems and, through TEENS+, a transitional education programme, we support young people with complex and severe communication issues.

The charity has grown rapidly in recent years with turnover approaching £2m due to the high demand and recognition of the positive impact our services have on the lives of children, young people and their families.

We are now looking to appoint a high calibre Chief Executive to provide leadership at an exciting and challenging time as the charity continues to grow and develop. If you feel you have the necessary experience, passion and commitment I would strongly encourage you to apply.

If you wish to have further information about the role please do not hesitate to contact Debbie Shields at our recruitment partners, Aspen People, on 0141 212 7555.

Yours sincerely,

Kirsty Low
Deputy Chair

About Sleep Scotland

Sleep Scotland is the UK’s longest established children’s sleep charity. Since 1998, we’ve promoted healthy sleep for children and young people across the UK and Ireland through sleep counselling, education and by raising sleep awareness. Our vision is that all children and young people with sleep problems, including those with additional support needs and their families, can receive help to achieve a qualitative improvement in the whole family’s life.

Teens+ provide a service for young people with complex communication needs, autism & its complexities, and behaviours that challenge traditional services. Our primary goal is to help individuals achieve their full potential through gentle, lifelong learning. Our Transitional Education service is designed to assist young adults who are not quite ready to take the step into post school education, work or to a new home. We also provide a befriending service out with the normal hours of our service operation which is tailor made to each students needs.

Teens+ has more than doubled its capacity in the last 3 years and, with very positive feedback on the difference it makes to young adults, there is ongoing strong demand for its services.
