Nigel Fortnum ran his own executive search consultancy – Fortnum Select – successfully for 7 years prior to Aspen (formerly Munro) acquiring his business in 2012. This has provided him with the opportunity of growing his particular skills in FMCG and where Agri-Business impacts across the public sector.

Born and brought up in rural Galloway, he qualified as an Agronomist later becoming a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

His career initially brought 15 years experience in the commercial world of Agri-Business with some of the leading names in Agrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Animal Nutrition. For the past 17 years he has worked in Executive Search specialising in the key industries of Agri-Business, Food and Drink, and FMCG.

He has developed key relationships with clients and candidates, building a true partnership approach and ensuring that he delivers the best possible service to clients.

Aspen has provided him with the opportunity to grow his industry knowledge and reach and he is now working for a broad range of clients across the private and public sectors.

“My perfect day would be spent with friends at Murrayfield watching our National Team take on some of the best teams in the world, and having a few drinks afterwards to celebrate the occasion if rarely the result!”.

Staff Testimonials

Scottish Veterans' Residences and Housing Association - Chief Executive
" Scottish Veterans' Residences engaged Aspen to support the search and selection of a new Chief Executive for the charity and Housing Association. Throughout the process Nigel Fortnum provided clear and wise counsel and support. Kelsey Sinclair administered the process thoroughly, with great care. Aspen generated an impressive list of high quality candidates that more than met our aspirations. We were delighted with the eventual outcome of the process and much of this is thanks to Aspen. "
