Donogh O’Brien is an experienced headhunter who has worked extensively across the Private, Public & Third sectors across the UK for nearly 20 years.

His professional service, integrity & values are underpinned by a traditional CA training followed by an accountancy career in financial services and the third sector.

Donogh has since enjoyed a progressive relationship led service career by looking for creative solutions across the changing horizon of Human Capital Management.

As a Director of Aspen he has delivered at the very highest Executive and Non Executive levels within Higher & Further Education, NHS, Local & Central Government as well as Charities, Social Enterprise and University Spin out companies.

He has pioneered creative solutions for clients where traditional search and selection has been described as "nice to have". He has developed our NxD offering beyond the heritage of high profile Chair appointments, to improve the calibre of critical non executive Directors & Trustees for board & governance requirements.

He firmly believes in the trusted partnership ethos link with his Clients and Candidate Customers', which is why he has a reputation for going the extra mile in delivering only the highest level of professional service with honesty and integrity.

My perfect day would involve a round of golf, either in Troon or in any of the world class courses across Scotland. I very much enjoy spending time with my young family – ensuring that my son and daughter fully appreciate the attributes of sporting activity. Although this can involve manic schedules, the pay back is in seeing their obvious thrill in taking part.”

Staff Testimonials

Inverness College - Principal and Chief Executive
" Dear Donogh, I wanted to write to say thank you to you and your team for your help and support through our recent Principal and CEO recruitment process. With this being the first time I had been through such a process, I particularly wanted to thank you and Liam for the reassurance and guidance you provided to me as we went along. At every stage of the process I felt well informed, well supported and confident that the insight, advice and guidance we received was objective and fair. A number of candidates for the post also commented that they felt well supported by Donogh and were treated really well throughout. Undoubtedly this helped them to show us their very best as they progressed through our process, which I'm delighted to say, ended with a superb appointment. "
