Our client is one of the UK’s largest producers of fish and seafood. Based in Scotland, they produce for food service and retail, both in the UK and around the world. They have an extensive portfolio of brands and work with the UK’s largest retailers. They provide a complete range of services, from basic fish processing and supply through to the full product development cycle; from identifying opportunities to delivering the finished product.
The role will report to the Site technical Manager and oversee Quality Control Technicians. Responsibilities include ensuring the factory is compliant with food quality standards. The Quality manager will also ensure that technical and GMP standards meet customer codes of practice and legal requirements. Also responsible for ensuring that raw materials and ingredients meet specification, help streamline the quality management system and to deliver new process innovation to the site operation
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience within the food manufacturing industry, experience of quality systems and an excellent knowledge of HACCP. He / she will also have knowledge of major retailer auditing processes, retailer technical policies / systems and experience in the application of 3rd party Food Safety Standards and the accreditation process.
