The University of Dundee is One of the world’s top 200 universities (Times Higher Education 2017) internationally recognised for its expertise across a range of disciplines including science, medicine, engineering and art. Their core purpose is to transform lives, locally and globally through the creation, sharing and application of knowledge. Over the past five decades we have pioneered innovations as diverse as flat screen technology and keyhole surgery, had the vision to bring the V&A Museum of Design to Dundee and have worked with partners to help drive the city’s regeneration. As well as offering a student experience that is consistently rated among the best in the UK, and is producing graduates who are ready to help solve real-world problems and become future leaders across society, the University carries out research that has a real impact on people’s lives, here in Scotland and around the world.

Aspen are currently working with the University to appoint a Development & Alumni Relations Manager (DARO) to contribute to the vibrant fundraising team. With management responsibility for a team of three and reporting directly in to the Head of Development and Alumni, the DARO Manager plays a key role in delivering the ambitions of the function. The role offers the opportunity to contribute strategically and, working closely with the Head of Development and Alumni and colleagues across the External Relations directorate, develop the vision for the alumni relations function as a whole. In addition to planning for and managing the development of the team, the role offers a hands-on fundraising role to support the wider strategic aims for the DARO team.

We are seeking an individual with a relationship focussed approach to fundraising within the Higher Education sector. The successful candidate will bring an innovative approach and supportive leadership to the team along with the drive to support the wider success of the University.
