Senior Revenues Manager
East Renfrewshire Council is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced manager, to lead Revenues (including Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates), Creditors (Accounts Payable); Benefits, Debtors and Business Support Services and to lead on Welfare Reform.
These services are essential to ensuring that the Council brings in all the income due to it; that all benefits due to our residents are properly and efficiently transacted and that we pay our invoices timeously and accurately.
There are redesign and modernisation opportunities including greater use of technology/digital services, service integration and management information. You should be confident in challenging existing practice and seeking to develop new, innovative and efficient processes and working as part of a team to deliver this change. First class people management skills are a prerequisite to ensure highly functioning and motivated teams.
At all times financial control and accuracy is paramount. A qualified accountant with significant financial experience at senior management level and a proven track record of minimising fraud, risk and error is essential.
It is recognised that it is also a time of significant national change to the welfare system which creates uncertainty for our staff and residents. We are also looking for effective leadership of the Welfare Reform agenda so that its impact can be properly understood and managed.
The Senior Revenues Manager will also be responsible for a small business support team which provides a range of administrative support to both the Chief Executive’s and Corporate and Community Services Departments.
