Appointment of Director of Development and Asset Management, West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA)
I’m delighted that you’re interested in applying for this important post within the Association.
West of Scotland Housing Association has been building homes and delivering key housing and maintenance services to our tenants and owner occupiers for over 50 years. During this time we have built a strong reputation for providing excellent services and working with our people to help them realise their true potential and achieve their aspirations.
Many of our customers are happy for us to simply provide them with a good quality home and factoring services, however, we recognise that we have thousands of customers who have other needs and we also provide support to help them with a range of issues. We do a huge amount in relation to education, in supporting children and families, in helping with employment and training opportunities and supporting our older people, we also deliver a range of community activities and provide support to health and wellbeing projects.
Our Board is made up of strong, dedicated and inspirational people who are extremely positive about our future. They understand the value our customers place on the Association providing good quality homes and delivering an excellent repair and maintenance service, they are also strong supporters of our growth aspirations but they realise there is more we can so to make a positive impact on peoples lives and are therefore very supportive of our sustainable communities agenda.
Our Board and staff worked together to review our business priorities and have made some significant changes. We have introduced a new staff structure which will help us to deliver improved services to our customers and we have refocussed our energies on business growth. Our reputation for working closely with our partners means we now have the opportunity to resume our development programme and we will deliver in the region of 500 new homes across West and Central Scotland over the next five years.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a high level of personal awareness and will understand that you are only as good as the team you have around you, only as good as the means by which you inspire that team to deliver. You will be a strong, inspirational leader who is committed to ensuring our customers receive the best possible service and we provide quality accommodation that people are proud to call their home.
As West of Scotland Housing Association looks forward to the next 50 years we are looking for a strong leader to help us build on our successes so far and continue to create innovative and exciting communities where people want to live.
