About SRUC
Where education, research, skills and industry come together.
SRUC is a specialist higher education institution delivering tertiary education, research and consultancy. With a distinctive Scotland-wide presence, we connect learning and skills with the needs of rural and land-based industries, helping support a fair and sustainable economy.
Our principal purpose is to advance education, science, research, and environmental protection and improvement in rural and land-based industries, in Scotland and internationally. Through SAC Consulting, part of SRUC, we also deliver commercial consultancy, skills training, knowledge exchange and selected commercial research.

A Scotland-wide network
Our main higher and further education activities are based at five campuses: Aberdeen, Barony, Edinburgh, Elmwood and Oatridge. Across our wider organisation, our people work from five campuses, eight farms, 25 consulting offices, six research centres and eight veterinary surveillance centres, located primarily across Scotland.
Our ambition
SRUC is working towards becoming Scotland’s Enterprise University — a distinctive, accessible and responsive institution at the heart of the sustainable natural economy. We aim to bring research, skills and business together to create new insights and solutions for business, society and government.
Rooted in regional communities and connected to global excellence, we work with government, business and other partners to support the transition to a fair and sustainable economy.
