David Blaikie,
Chairman
Thank you for your interest in the role of Chief Executive of The Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home.
Founded in 1883, the EDCH is Scotland's oldest independent dog and cat rescue organisation. Based on the sea front in Edinburgh, we care for almost 1,000 dogs and 300 cats each year. To support our charitable work, we also provide high quality boarding facilities and last year looked after almost 3,000 boarding animals. We employ around 30 members of staff and have an enthusiastic team of animal-loving volunteers who provide added support for us in the fields of animal care, fund-raising and serving customers in our charity shop.
After 40 years' service, our current Manager is now retiring. We are therefore looking for a highly experienced leader to take our charity forward into a new era of achievement.
The Home provides a lively and exciting environment in which to work, so the post would suit someone with boundless enthusiasm and an ability to grow the business side of the charity while inspiring staff, volunteers and supporters. It goes without saying that a genuine interest in animal welfare is a must for the position.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to play a lead role in the development of our forward-thinking organisation. If you feel you have the skills to make a difference and to lead our charity forward, I would urge you to contact Aspen now for details on how to make your application.
