Voluntary Board Members

Who We Are

What sets Blackwood apart as a housing and care provider is our history and pioneering spirit. Dr Margaret Blackwood MBE founded our company over 40 years ago, and while times have changed, and technology continues to advance, that spirit still drives us to improve the lives of our customers as our unique strategy comes to life.

This is an exciting time for Blackwood as we build our reputation as a leader in Scotland for how people can live independently.

We are seeking voluntary Board Members to join our existing members and help take us from good to great;

  • We are known for our innovation and our future is focused on integrating technology to enhance our services, embedding our bespoke digital solution, CleverCogs, with customers in their homes. If you have skills and experience in digital change we are interested in you.
  • We are growing our business with over 500 people now employed across Scotland and our assets are carefully managed for the future. We need your financial management or treasury planning experience to make sure we grow as a financially sustainable business.
  • The Blackwood House sets a new standard of highly accessible, beautiful, homes enabling people to live independently. This pioneering model build was a resounding success in Dundee in 2017 with a further 32 homes being built in Glasgow and Inverclyde and more in our development programme. If you have commercial development or construction skills and experience, we are interested.
  • As we develop our new Strategy and Business Plan for 2020-25, we will increase our investment in innovation to build potential for future generations. If you have commercial or entrepreneurial experience and skills we’d like to hear from you.

If you think you can help us deliver our key strategic themes of Value and Quality for our customers and Investing in Innovation then get in touch with us. Your valuable time can help our customers live as independently as possible.
