As part of the School Leadership Team the successful candidate will play a lead role in the development and successful implementation of the School strategy and strategic deliverables, evidenced in a step change improvement in key performance measures both internally and externally. You will be accountable to the Head of School and Director of College Professional Services, with key day-to-day responsibilities to support the Head of School, in the overall organisational planning and leadership of School professional support services including student learning & teaching, research and operational support. This currently includes line management responsibility, direct and indirect, for all Management, Professional & Administrative, Technical and Operational staff within the School.

The ideal candidate will have a broad range of professional experience in a similar management role and knowledge of the governance and business processes of a large, complex organisation. He / she will need knowledge of change management and an understanding of the HE sector and the relevant potential challenges. You will be an effective leader, communicator and negotiator with a proven track record of project management. Customer service, stakeholder management and business partnering skills will also be key to this role.

This is a strategic position, integral to both informing, and the successful delivery of, the future shape of the School professional services provision in line with the College and University’s strategic direction.
