About Includem

Welcome to Includem. We are a charity which provides one to one relationship based support to young people, their families/carers to help them transform their lives. We provide intensive, bespoke support to young people and families in challenging circumstances. Our model of support is based upon building solid relationships of trust. Through this approach we are able to help young people make positive life choices and progress towards the type of future they want to live.

At the heart of everything we do is the belief that no young person is beyond help. 

We offer hope … to young people who feel they have been let down or forgotten by everyone else.

We build confidence … by focusing on their strengths and their potential.

We create opportunity … through practical support and partnership working with other organisations in their local community.

We inspire belief in themselves … so they can go on to live positive, fulfilling lives.

Our model of support has been proven to transform the lives of thousands of young people, by building trusting relationships and gradually changing the way they look at their own lives and their behaviour patterns.  We offer this support when young people, and their families and carers, need it most – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Includem is headquartered in Glasgow with regional offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Fife and Stirling. Since our formation in 2000 we have worked with more than 5000 young people aged 5-25, helping to improve their lives, and the lives of their families and carers.  We employ more than 120 staff all of whom are passionate and committed to making a difference to the lives of the young people and families which they support.

The Role

Chair – Glasgow – Non-remunerated

Includem are now looking to recruit a Chair who will support the Chief Executive and the organisation to meet its charitable and strategic objectives. The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

The ideal candidate will be able to devote an appropriate amount of time to the role and ideally have experience of working within a regulated environment. There will be a requirement of regular contact with the Chief Executive, attendance at a minimum of 4 board meetings per year, plus attendance at annual Strategy Reviews and other internal/external events.
