The Role: Board Members

The Board of Directors provide support to the Chief Executive and the rest of the Senior Management team. They are passionate about making a positive difference to people’s lives. The current Directors are committed to Jobs & Business Glasgow and come from both the private and public sectors. We are keen to enhance the diversity of experience and backgrounds and appoint new directors to the Board.
Specific Strengths
We are looking to fill two positions. We would encourage well-connected applicants with drive, commitment and personal credibility, from the Central Belt of Scotland, with an expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Business Finance and Investment
- HR
- Commercial Business Development
Board Responsibilities
Board Directors should be able to commit to attend between 4-6 Board meetings per year. In addition, we expect Directors to be a member of one of JBG’s three sub committees: Finance & Audit, Performance & HR or Property and to attend Board development sessions, related meetings and events that can promote and develop JBG’s reputation, relationships and business portfolio.
These are non-remuneration posts, however expenses incurred in carrying out Board duties will be fully reimbursed.
