Deputy Chief Operating Officer
Competitive salary in the range of £117,783 – £135, 297 per annum depending on experience

This newly shaped leadership role will drive the strategic development and delivery of an integrated, high‑performing professional services environment at Cardiff University by:

 

  • Leading service transformation across the academic and student lifecycle, ensuring professional services are coherent, customer‑focused, inclusive and aligned with institutional priorities.
  • Providing strategic oversight and leadership of major operational areas, including Student Experience, Education Operations, Education Support, Governance, Timetabling and College Operations.
  • Championing a culture of continuous improvement, embedding digital transformation, service integration, and sector‑leading operational practices.
  • Driving strategic planning, risk management and performance assurance, ensuring effective resource allocation and robust governance.
  • Leading and empowering multidisciplinary teams, developing talent, embedding new ways of working, and modelling our institutional values

  • Acting as a key strategic partner across the University, representing professional services, contributing to governance, and deputising for the Chief Operating Officer.
