Founded in 1641, Hutchesons’ Grammar School is one of Scotland’s leading independent schools, educating boys and girls from age 3 to 18. Located in Glasgow, the School combines a distinguished heritage with a forward-looking approach to education, serving more than 1,000 pupils across its Pre-School, Primary and Secondary stages.

Hutchesons’ Grammar School is governed by the Governors of Hutchesons’ Educational Trust, a registered Scottish charity. The Trust’s Board plays a vital role in safeguarding the School’s long-term sustainability, ensuring effective governance, supporting strong financial stewardship and helping to shape the strategic direction of the organisation. Trustees are custodians of a legacy that spans almost four centuries, while also ensuring the School continues to innovate and respond to the opportunities and challenges facing education in the twenty-first century.

The School remains inspired by the vision of its founders, George and Thomas Hutcheson, whose commitment to educational opportunity, service and social responsibility continues to underpin its charitable purpose today.
