Sabhal Mòr Ostaig has a unique learning environment.  Our courses and the College are all delivered through the medium of Gaelic – the only College of its kind in Scotland and in the world.  The College is based in Sleat on the Isle of Skye, an area renowned for its natural beauty.  The College was established in 1973 and since then has gained a worldwide reputation as a Centre for the Gaelic Language and Culture.  It is a specialist college, offering higher education, further education and research opportunities. Sabhal Mòr Ostaig recognises the importance of a strong foundation for the language, culture and the arts and is involved in many projects to take this forward The College has c.100 employees, and we have a strong track record of working as a team with strong relationships and a collaborative philosophy.
