The Director of Service will have responsibility for leading the development and execution of SMK’s strategic vision and business plan, building a high-performing senior leadership team, and developing and maintaining a thriving portfolio of strategic partnerships to secure access to the resources, services and facilities to deliver the highest quality care, therapeutic interventions and education provision.
The successful candidate is likely to have substantial leadership experience and track record of achievement within either the Care, Education, Health or Justice sectors and understand the interface of working with different agencies. The role will appeal to a honed strategic leader looking for their next challenge and with established credentials in their own field.
You will be values-led in your leadership approach, you will work in accordance with the secure care standards, you will have a thorough knowledge of ‘what works’ and ‘what good looks like’ for children and young people who need secure care, and you will bring experience of operating at a senior level, a proven track record of change management and driving excellent performance at pace. You will be an accomplished communicator who can engage and inspire colleagues within an open, positive, and high-performance culture. You will be able to develop and motivate large multi-disciplinary teams by being able to listen carefully but also have views that you are able to express persuasively within a Senior Leadership Team that embraces collective decision-making and shared responsibility. You will also have the ability to negotiate, influence and network nationally and occasionally internationally.
