Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Technology Officer will play a defining role in shaping and delivering PNDC’s technical vision. This is a hands‑on leadership role at the heart of validating next‑generation power networks, transport powertrains and heat systems, using PNDC’s unique facilities to move breakthrough technologies from concept to real‑world deployment. The CTO will provide senior oversight of major technical programmes, capital investment and innovation activity, ensuring exceptional outcomes for partners and accelerating impact at scale.

Working at the intersection of industry, research and innovation, the CTO will set and own PNDC’s technology roadmaps, build high‑value international partnerships, and create a strong pipeline of ambitious, industry‑led projects that support the transition to Net Zero. Combining deep technical credibility with commercial insight, the successful candidate will act as a global ambassador for PNDC’s capabilities, positioning the centre as a world leader in power networks and whole‑energy system innovation, while inspiring and developing multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellence.
