Non-Executive Board Member

Welcome

Welcome to the Port of Cromarty Firth’s microsite for the recruitment and appointment of a Non-Executive Board Member.

As a Trust Port, we exist to improve, safeguard and develop the Cromarty Firth as a strategic national asset for the benefit of our stakeholders. This includes port users, employees, the local community, regional businesses, government and, ultimately, future generations. Whilst we are a self-financing commercial business, 100% of profits are reinvested in the development of the Port to create jobs, business opportunities and economic growth for the Highland region.

As a leading Scottish Port we are uniquely positioned to play a leading role in Scotland’s journey to a green economic recovery and are at the forefront of Opportunity Cromarty Firth a collaborative initiative made up of private, public and academic partners, exploring the opportunity to create a strategic renewable energy hub having successfully been awarded Green Freeport Status.

Achieving this ambition would unlock a sustainable pipeline of supply chain opportunities and bring high-value employment to the region. These opportunities are primarily linked to offshore renewables, including offshore wind, floating offshore wind and green hydrogen, with the Cromarty Firth at the heart of a host of future multi-billion pound offshore renewable energy projects.

Our port has grown into one of Scotland’s busiest cruise ports welcoming another record-breaking year, as it brings more cruise ships and seaborne tourists to the north than ever before.

In recruitment of a new non-executive Board Member, applicants are sought with professional or personal experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Commercial Finance
  • Project Management
  • Strategic Business Development

The closing date for applications is Friday 22nd September.
