UHI Moray

Director of Finance
Salary: circa £70,000 – pay review 1st September 2025
Full time – job share and other flexible arrangements can be considered

As our new Director of Finance, you’ll provide strategic and high quality financial and management accounting services to enable effective and efficient financial planning and control by myself and the Board of Management to ensure financial sustainability. You’ll play a leading role in ensuring that all UHI Moray operations are fully informed by considerations of risk, value for money and efficiency, and you’ll work closely with colleagues across UHI Moray and the UHI region to help develop plans to ensure that we become a more integrated, more joined-up partnership that includes the best of Moray, and is also best for Moray.

We are seeking a new Director of Finance who will provide strategic and high quality management to enable effective financial planning and control by the Principal and Board of Management, ensuring financial sustainability. Having recently completed a successful Financial Recovery Plan, we need you to lead our drive to increase commercialisation and non-funded income generation of College services, as well as playing a key role in major capital investment projects and proposals.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated leader and successful negotiator and will hold a professional accountancy qualification, have experience of strategic financial planning, developing financial policy frameworks, and of providing management accounting services over a number of financial cycles. It is desirable that the new Director has an understanding of the Scottish Education Funding Methodologies, but of upmost importance is that you share the College’s commitment to our strategic values and our vision and mission for the students, staff and employers in the communities that we serve.

All appointments are subject to the appropriate PVG Scheme membership or Disclosure Scotland check.

This post attracts a leave entitlement of 45 days pro rata per annum, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme through the North East Scotland Pension Scheme.
