Edinburgh College is one of Scotland’s largest colleges, offering more than 700 courses to 30,000 students across four campuses. With a strong focus on expert teaching, industry partnerships and flexible pathways from access to degree level, the College supports students to develop the skills and opportunities needed to succeed, with the vast majority progressing to employment or further study.
The Director of Partnerships and Income Generation was a key senior leadership appointment, supporting Edinburgh College at an important stage in its strategic development. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the role was central to shaping the College’s approach to business development, partnership engagement and income generation, ensuring long-term financial sustainability in a changing funding environment.
The successful candidate was responsible for unlocking new opportunities across international, commercial and innovation activities, growing and diversifying income streams while strengthening relationships with businesses, partners and stakeholders. Working collaboratively with curriculum teams and senior leaders, the role supported the delivery of the College’s strategic ambitions and enhanced its ability to respond to evolving sector challenges.
The appointment sought an accomplished senior leader with significant experience in business development, partnership building and revenue generation. The successful candidate brought a proven track record of driving growth, developing sustainable income opportunities and leading teams through change. Strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across a wide range of stakeholders were essential.
