RSPB Scotland

Welcome

We have an exciting senior vacancy at RSPB Scotland, please take a moment to consider if you are the person to help shape and lead our campaigns, fundraising and communications across Scotland.

RSPB Scotland employs some 300 staff from Shetland to Dumfries and Galloway. We are not just about birds! We are one of Scotland’s largest land managers, we undertake world leading science, we run visitor centres, and campaign to make Scotland a better place for all wildlife. We stand up for conservation and the Environment – even when it is unpopular to do so.

The RSPB in Scotland is supported by over 80,000 members and we have 2000 active volunteers.

We have an enviable reputation for our professional and evidence based work, but it’s our best kept secret! We need to win over more supporters if we are to save wildlife and the special places that give nature a home. We need to harness popular support to persuade decision makers in the Government or in the corporate world to ‘give nature a home’. As part of our senior team we are looking for leadership and insights to help us deliver our strategy. The RSPB is based across the UK, but works in over 30 countries worldwide – our focus is on partnership, winning hearts and minds and growing support for our cause.

The information attached tells you more about the ‘nuts and bolts’ – but above all I hope the sense of purpose we have, and the supportive and professional staff teams will encourage you to apply to join our charity and help us do even more for Scotland’s people and wildlife.

If you would like to discuss this opportunity with me, please do not hesitate to contact me on 0131 317 4104, or email stuart.housden@rspb.org.uk to fix a convenient time to do so.
