Brief Overview: Head of Fundraising and Communications

Location: Edinburgh
Salary: up to £60,000 pa

We are looking to appoint the Head of Fundraising and Communications who will be responsible for leading a team to generate growing public support and income for RSPB Scotland’s conservation and business priorities. RSPB Scotland (HQ in Edinburgh) is part of the RSPB – the UK based charity that promotes the conservation of birds, and other wildlife and the natural environment. The RSPB has operated in Scotland since at least 1904 and has a large presence in terms of the nature reserves it manages (over 80 in total from Shetland to Galloway), and with staff based across the country. RSPB Scotland works in partnership with the Scottish Government, Scottish Natural Heritage and other environmental NGOs to tackle the problems which threaten our environment. We are keen to build support for Giving Nature a home, with more people and communities and the corporate as well as commercial sector.

The successful candidate could come from a very wide variety of backgrounds but should have proven leadership experience and knowledge of fundraising, corporate communications and operating a at senior management level. He / she should be able to undertake a senior representational role with diverse interest groups and stakeholders, and have demonstrable networking skills.
