The post holder will manage a team of around 140 highly motivated professionals across a range of disciplines. You will help to shape and develop national policy, provide strong leadership and effective advice on a broad range of national initiatives. You will be responsible for influencing the strategic direction of facilities estates and capital programming, working closely with Scottish Government, other UK NHS bodies, wider Health and Public Sector organisations, and strategic supply partners.

The post holder will be responsible for overseeing all facilities and capital programme activity in order to deliver the wider strategic objectives of the organisation, providing solutions to support the delivery of Health across NHSScotland in both acute and community settings and to realise cash and non cash benefits for reinvestment in patient care. You will be the primary point of contact for all stakeholders in the provision of expert advice, solution development and strategic delivery of an estates portfolio of circa 1800 properties totaling 4 million square meters with a book value of £4.6bn.

The successful candidate will lead the preparation of the NHSScotland Asset and Facilities annual report and support delivery of the outputs from the report, ensuring the successful delivery of policy and objectives

You will be educated to Degree level in a relevant related discipline and hold a post-graduate qualification or equivalent. You will also hold chartered membership in a relevant discipline. The successful candidate will have extensive post-graduate experience with highly developed specialist knowledge and proven leadership ability at a senior management level. A strong understanding of Asset Facilities Management will be essential, as will the ability to lead the organisation into its next phase of success.
