New Lanark was inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2001. It is an international, award-winning visitor destination and a living, working community. New Lanark Trust (NLT), an independent charity, is responsible for the restoration and regeneration of the village and for developing a sustainable management strategy to safeguard its future. The Trust is innovative, progressive and pioneering in the use of historic buildings, in community co-operation and development. New Lanark offers a mix of social and private housing, as well as business accommodation.

They are now looking to appoint a Head of Property and Facilities who will be responsible for Property, Building Services and Facilities Management across the premises and grounds owned by NLT including rented, private and commercial property. Reporting to the Chief Executive, this role will oversee Health and Safety arrangements and compliance for NLT and its subsidiary companies whilst preparing and implementing a comprehensive programme of planned and preventive maintenance for the buildings and grounds. The Head of Property and Facilities will also be expected to participate in, and contribute to, the development and implementation of overall asset strategies for the Trust including leading on project management of major capital projects.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience at a senior management level and sound knowledge of property and building services maintenance and facilities management. He / she is likely to be a graduate or hold a relevant professional qualification and have experience of project management. Knowledge and experience of historic building conservation techniques will be an advantage. The successful candidate will have excellent people / team management skills and be able to work with minimum supervision to deliver a busy and varied workload.
